30 bags of Yorganics compost
York NHS Foundation Trust has taken delivery of 30 bags of Yorganics compost.
The compost, which has been donated to the Trust, is 100% recycled and 100% peat free, made from garden waste collected in and around Yorkshire.
Yorwaste Key Account and Broker Manager Gill Mulroe said: “We are always looking at ways to support York NHS and this was a great opportunity to involve the NHS as part of their own closed loop and sustainability programme.”
The plan is for the Trust to use the compost around the many hospital sites to enhance garden areas for visitors and staff, at York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Malton and Selby Hospitals.
Yorganics Compost is now available to purchase at Household Waste Recycling Centres across North Yorkshire and the City of York.
It can also be bought in bulk via the Yorganics website.
